HON. JUSTICE TETENWI NGEI ELERAOBARI

Brief Introduction

HON. JUSTICE TETENWI NGEI ELERAOBARI was born 2nd March 1976 In Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

The Honourable Justice Tetenwi obtained his primary school education (FSLC) at State school Alesa, Eleme in 1988. He proceeded to Okrika Grammar school, Okrika and Comprehensive High school, Alesa – Eleme where he obtained his Secondary education (WAEC) in 1994. He obtain a National Diploma in law certificate from the Rivers State College of Arts and science now Port Harcourt Polytechnic in1999 and in 2006 he acquired his first degree in law (LL.B) from the Rivers State University of Science and technology now Rivers University and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja where he obtained his B. L and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007. He also acquired Professional Diploma in Customary Law while on the lower court Bench in 2014 from the Rivers State University of Science and technology now Rivers State University Port Harcourt.

Hon. Justice Tetenwi started his professional career in 2007 having been been given NYSC Exemption certificate where he served as a counsel in Chief G O. Ollor & CO. A Law firm located in Eleme, Rivers State. He thereafter worked as Legal Assistant and Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Education Rivers State in 2008/2009.

He was appointed the Chairman, Customary Court Eleme in 2009 where he served for 14 years before he was elevated to the position of a judge of the Customary court of Appeal Rivers State in February 2023.

Shortly before his elevation to the Higher Bench, Tetenwi Ngei was appointed a Deputy Chief Registrar Litigation of the Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal in July 2022, one of the first set of Deputy Chief Registrars appointed from amongst the Customary court Chairmen Rivers State.

Hon. Justice Tetenwi Ngei by Divine grace became the first Customary Court Chairman in Nigeria to be elevated to the Higher Bench. He is happily married and blessed.
