Brief Introduction
Hon. Justice Legor T. Senewo was born at Nyorzorgor Village in Bane Town, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State on the 16th day of August 1964. Appointed Judge, Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal on the 26th day of March, 2018. Married to Mrs. Vleeleh Senewo and blessed with two sons: MuekaBari Lele Raymond Senewo and GunuguBari Gabriel Senewo.
I had 20 years post-call experience before my appointment as a Judge in 2018. I also had 12 years’ experience in Mediation; 9 years’ experience in Arbitration; 5 Years’ Experience in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs); 4 years’ experience in Water Regulation; 17 years’ experience in Community Development and Advocacy; Over 20 years’ experience in volunteer service and philanthropy; 10 years of supervisory experience; I have Excellent service/management skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, web surfing, e-mailings, and PowerPoint). I am fluent in Khana and English Languages. I am widely travelled. At present, I am a member of the National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, Enugu State.
I possess the First School Leaving Certificate 1975; General Certificate of Education, 1984; Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons, 2nd Class Upper Division) 1997; Bachelor at Laws (B.L Hons) 1998 and Masters in Law (LL.M) Legislative Drafting, 2003.
I attended State School Kaa for my primary Education for my primary education, Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori for the secondary education, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, PortHarcourt (now Rivers State University) for my law degree; and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos for the call to Bar degree. I later completed my postgraduate degree in Legislative Drafting at the renowned Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Lagos. I attended several conferences, workshops and seminars at home and abroad before I was elevated to the bench. While on the bench I have been opportune to participate in the bi-annual conference for Judges and other trainings for Judges at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja.
I was a member of several professional bodies before going to the Bench. I also participated in Judicial Commissions of Inquiry and served on several committees. I have delivered lectures at various fora and also ventured into some research work.
My hobbies are reading, lawn tennis, football, swimming and traveling.
