BRIEF PROFILE OF HON. JUSTICE JOY NNW AKPUGHUNUM
Hon. Justice Joy Nne Akpughunum was born in Kpor Ogoni in the present day Gokana Local Government Area.
She attended her Primary and Secondary Education in Rivers State
She had her Higher School Education in Federal Government Girls College, Owerri in Imo Stets, and the University of Ife (presently Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile Ire where the obtained LLB in 1981. 4. She thereafter attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to Bar in 1982,
She was in Legal Practice after the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme up till 1992 when she was appointed Company Secreta Legal Adviser of Risonpalm Ltd.
She returned back to Private Legal Practice from 1996 to 1998 when she was appointed a High Court Judge of the Rivers State Judiciary
She has served in several Election Petition Tribunals both as member and Chairman.
She is a member of professional bodies such as the National Association of Women Judges (NAVVJN). international Association of Women Judges (lAWJ), International Bar Association (IBA), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK Branch)
She is a Knight of St. Christopher and presently the Chancellor, Diocese of Ahoada, Anglican Communion
Her hobbies includes reading and gardening.
