PROFILE OF HONOURABLE JUSTICE COMFORT IFIEKMOTU-AWAJI ADANGOR, KBVM, FICMC
INTRODUCTION
HONOURABLE JUSTICE COMFORT IFIEKMOTU-AWAJI ADANGOR, KBVM, FICMC, is a Judge of the High Court of Rivers State. Prior to his elevation to the High Court Bench on 6th day of February, 2023, His Lordship had served as a Chief Magistrate Grade II, with the Rivers State Judiciary.
His Lordship was born in Ikuru Town to the family of Mr. Jacob Nna Egop (of blessed Memory) of Ikuru Town and Mrs. Beatrice Jacob Egop (Nee Afibia-Ukot) of Asuk-Ama, all of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
EDUCATION
Honourable Justice Comfort Ifiekmotu-Awaji Adangor attended State School Ikuru Town, Andoni where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1980 and Community Secondary School Ikuru Town, Andoni. Given his leadership qualities, His Lordship was appointed the Senior Prefect (Girls) during the 1985 Set. His Lordship also attended Oyigbo Comprehensive College, Oyigbo Rivers State.
His Lordship was admitted into the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu- Port Harcourt (now Rivers State University) to study Law, which he successfully completed with the award of Bachelor of Laws LL. B (Second Class Lower Division) in 2005.
His Lordship was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in 2007. His Lordship is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (FICMC).
CAREER
His Lordship commenced his career with the Rivers State Judiciary in 1987, as Clerical Assistant on Grade Level 03 at the age of 20 years and rose through the ranks to Principal Registrar I on Grade Level 13, before his Appointment as a Chief Magistrate Grade II in 2019. His Lordship was on 6th day of February, 2023, elevated to the Rivers State High Court Bench as a Judge.
His Lordship is a member of many professional organizations, including National Association of Women Judges in Nigeria (NAWJN); FIDA, etc., and has attended many trainings, Seminars, and Professional conferences
CHRISTAIN LIFE
His Lordship is a devote Christian, Communicant and member of many arms of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Niger Delta. His Lordship is a Knight of Blessed Virgin Mary of the Diocese of Niger Delta, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
MARRIAGE
HONOURABLE JUSTICE COMFORT IFIEKMOTU-AWAJI ADANGOR is happily married to her beloved husband, PROF. ZACCHAEUS ADANGOR, SAN, DSSRS, MCIArb, KSC, NOTARY PUBLIC, of Ataba Kingdom, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. As a loving and committed wife, she has since her marriage to her beloved Husband become fully integrated not only into the Adangor family but also the entire Ataba Kingdom. Their marriage is blessed with three lovely Children.
