Hon. Justice Esor Ndowa Teetito was born on 30th December, 1958 at Agbeta Community, Ebubu in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. He started his educational career when he attended the State School, Ebubu from 1964 – 1971. From there he proceeded to Ascension High School, Nchia Eleme, 1971 – 1975. Between 1976 – 1978 he attended Federal School of Arts and Science, Ogoja, Cross River State, where he obtained GCE A/Level and Higher School Certificate (HSC). Between 1978 – 1979 he worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, Immigration Department, Port Harcourt as an Immigration Officer.
Between 1979 – 1982, he attended the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka where he studied Law and obtained his LL.B (Hons). In 1983, he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where obtained his BL (Hons) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1983.
Between 1985 – 1994 he was in private legal practice as Solicitor and Attorney in the Law firm of Fatai Aremu Oso (SAN) & Co. From 1987 – 1989 he was elected as Honourable Councillor into Okrika/Oyigbo/Tai/Eleme Local Government Council where he represented Odido Constituency and served his people as Supervisory Councillor.
After that brief period in politics, he returned to his legal practice as Managing Solicitor and Attorney in the law firm of E. Teetito & Co between 1994 – 2002. In 2002, he was appointed a High Court Judge in Rivers State where he is currently serving. He has served in several Judicial Panels and Election Tribunals at the State and National levels.
Hon. Justice Esor Teetito is an ordained Minister and Deacon in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Recognizing his meritorious service in the State, he was awarded the prestigious State Honour of Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS) by the Government of Rivers State in 2022. Hon. Justice Esor Teetito is happily married with children.
